Pocket watch as a medal, France, 1st half of the 20th century
Silver-plated non-ferrous metal, inside set up as a petrol lighter, outside in the form of the identical-looking bronze medal, on the front cover an embossed view of a factory hall with workers, above it a scene of a trench with French soldiers, rifles at the ready, probably titled "AUX POILUS D´USINE", on the back a cartouche for the owner's engraving, above a five-pointed (communist) star, inscription "PAR LE SOLDAT PAR L'OUVRIER A VICTOIRE" (FROM SOLDIER FROM WORKER TO VICTORY), various artist's signatures, age-appropriate condition, silver plating rubbed, dented, clear signs of useage, diameter 4.5 cm
