The Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (Winter Relief of the German People) was an annual fundraising campaign in the Third Reich. Under the motto “Donate instead of Buy”, citizens received small badges in return for their donations. These changed monthly and were often produced in thematic series (fairy tales, coats of arms, animals, etc.). Today, they represent an important field of collecting and uniquely document the everyday and propaganda culture of the period.
