3 Prussian Officer's Documents Carl von Seidlitz, 1826-1835
Paper, ink, embossed seals. A historically significant lot of three original documents documenting the early career of the Prussian Second Lieutenant Carl von Seidlitz in the 11th Infantry Regiment. 1) Certificate of maturity for an officer, issued by the Upper Military Examinations Commission, Berlin, December 11, 1826, signature illegible. 2) Officer's Patent (commission document) for promotion to Second Lieutenant of the 11th Infantry Regiment, Berlin February 17, 1827, with large blind seal. 3) Assessment of Second Lieutenant von Seidlitz by the Colonel and Commanding Officer of the 11th Infantry Regiment, dated January 31, 1835. Good condition appropriate for age, the documents are folded multiple times and show slight tears and age spots, each approx. 20 x 33 cm (HxW).
This rare ensemble of personal military documents offers a complete insight into a Prussian officer's career in the early 19th century. A fascinating piece of Prussian military and noble history.
