Military Service Spectacles of the Reichswehr around 1925 with Original Case and Documents
A historically significant ensemble, consisting of military service spectacles with a slender metal frame and oval lenses. The construction features a fine bridge as well as a transverse metal strut, on which two sliders sit for individual adjustment. Flexible cable temples, which end in rounded earpieces, ensured a secure fit. The spectacles are kept in their original, rectangular tin case, the base of which is lined with blue textile. In the lid, there is a printed, German-language instruction explaining the correct adjustment of the spectacles. The set is completed by the official "Spectacle Request" form, which is included as a folded slip. This shows a schematic drawing of the eyes and is filled out by hand with the diopter strength as well as the military unit assignment of the time, which lends the object its rare, personal, and military-historical character, The glasses were requested by a deputy officer of the 1st Bavarian Landwehr Division, good age-appropriate condition, case 1,5 x 13 x 4,5 cm (HxWxD)
