Prussian eagle plaque with Friedrich monogram, cast aluminium, 20th century
Aluminium, partially polychrome and gold-painted, reverse side blackened with visible remains of two mounting brackets. Relief-style depiction of the Prussian eagle with crowned head, outstretched wings and characteristically shaped tail feathers. The eagle grasps a sceptre and orb in its claws, while the chest features the gilded monogram “FR” for Fridericus Rex, a symbol of Frederick the Great (1712–1786). The head is topped by a gold-painted royal crown, with open beak and red-painted tongue. Wings and body are accentuated by raised lines and golden decorative bands, stylistically referencing courtly-military emblems. Age-appropriate, used condition with areas of wear and paint loss. 38 × 36 cm (h×w)
