Hitler Youth Knife with Scabbard, RZM M7/13 by A. Schüttelhöfer
Steel, nickel-plated, Bakelite, leather, enameled insignia. An original Hitler Youth knife from the Third Reich period. The hilt features a nickel-plated crossguard and pommel, as well as original, checkered Bakelite grip plates. The HJ emblem is inlaid into the grip plate. The blade is marked on the blade with the RZM logo and the manufacturer's code "M7/13" for Arthur Schüttelhöfer & Co., Solingen-Wald. It comes with its matching black-painted steel scabbard with a riveted leather loop, age-appropriate worn condition with patina. The blade has been period-shortened/ground, L. 23.5 cm, blade length 13 cm.
The HJ metre was the official side weapon of the Hitler Youth and was worn by all HJ members. From 1935, the award was controlled by the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM), which is proven by the marking on the blade.
