The IV. Winter Olympics were held from February 6 to 16, 1936, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Like the Summer Games in Berlin, they served as a major propaganda platform for the National Socialist regime to present Germany as a peaceful and efficient nation. High-quality souvenirs like the Rosenthal plate or the official badges were part of this staging and are now important historical documents.
