The vase is associated with the marriage of the Röttger Count von Veltheim and his wife Charlotte Antoinette von Bülow. After the death of his wife, Count Röttger von Veltheim voluntarily passed away from life in 1848. As early as 1805, Goethe spent a few days in the Harbke castle park and created a dendrological report. The orangery was built in 1830 in the neo-Gothic style and was used to grow and keep tropical plants. The vase may have been dedicated to the completion of the Orangery in 1830. 360 degree photo on our website.
